Embroidery + Astrology: Stitch Your Birth Chart with Kaitlyn
Saturday, May 16 • 1–4PM
$65 per person, all materials included
Slow down, get creative, and explore the stars in this unique embroidery workshop where fiber art meets astrology.
In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn foundational embroidery stitches while creating a stitched version of your own birth chart. As you work, we’ll explore the meaning behind your planetary placements, houses, and the unique story your chart tells.
No embroidery experience is needed. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the stitches and layout, with plenty of time to ask questions, experiment with thread colors, and make your piece your own.
All materials are included, and you’ll leave with a beautiful hand-stitched keepsake along with a deeper understanding of your personal cosmic blueprint.
Come curious, bring your creativity, and get ready to stitch with the stars. ✨🪡
About the Instructor:
Kaitlyn Cardone has been embroidering for over seven years and loves exploring creative, unconventional projects that push the boundaries of what thread and fabric can do. You’ll rarely find her working on the same thing for long—she’s always experimenting, learning, and bringing new ideas to life through embroidery.
Kaitlyn is also a member of The Common Thread team, where she shares her love of fiber arts with the community every day. Alongside her stitching practice, she’s a passionate student of astrology and enjoys helping others understand how planetary placements can reflect patterns in our everyday lives. In her workshops, she brings these two interests together, creating a relaxed and welcoming space to explore both embroidery and the stars. ✨
Gentle, All-Levels Flow | 60 minutes
Second Saturday of every month • 10:00–11:00 AM
Give your creative body a little love. Join us outside at The Common Thread Yarn Shop & Café for a gentle, all-levels yoga flow designed especially for crafters: anyone who knits, crochets, sews, stitches, or spends hours joyfully hunched over a project.
Led by Nicole Maloney, this class focuses on releasing tension in the areas makers feel it most: wrists, hands, neck, shoulders, back, and hips. We’ll begin with grounding breathwork, gently warm and mobilize the joints we rely on most, and move through slow, intentional postures that link movement with breath. The class closes with a restorative relaxation and short guided meditation so you leave feeling open, relaxed, and ready to create.
No yoga experience needed, this class is welcoming, accessible, and beginner-friendly.
☕ Our café will be open before and after class, serving hot coffee, tea, and locally baked pastries, perfect for easing into your morning or lingering a little longer afterward.
What to Bring
A yoga mat
Water bottle
Optional: a blanket or extra padding for comfort
(Class is held outdoors on asphalt; limited astro-turf areas available first come, first served.)
About the Instructor:
Nicole is a Tampa Bay native and lifelong movement lover who grew up as a competitive dancer and spent summers crafting with her grandmother. She rediscovered the connection between body and mind through community yoga in 2016 and completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Bella Prana in 2022. Today, she blends movement and making to help students stretch, soften, and build mindfulness into everyday creative life.
Come breathe, move, and care for the body that makes the things you love, and maybe treat yourself to something warm and delicious while you’re here. ✨
