Are you a fiber fanatic who loves helping others feel confident, inspired, and connected through yarn? Come be part of something special from the ground up. The Common Thread is hiring a small but mighty team to help us run our cozy new yarn shop and café starting with 1–2 shifts per week.

Who we're looking for:
You don’t need to know everything, but you do need to love yarn, people, and problem-solving. Our ideal teammate:

• Can knit and crochet (or has mastery of one)

• Is great at helping others troubleshoot patterns and project issues

• Brings warm, helpful energy to customer interactions

• Is comfortable with technology (point-of-sale, tablets, etc.)

• Has an eye for color, display, and organization

• Loves being part of a creative, collaborative environment

Nice-to-haves (but not required):
✨ Teaching experience: we’ll look to staff first when booking instructors
📱 Comfort with content creation or staying in the loop on fiber trends
🧵 Interest in representing your work through future markets or consignment opportunities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Helping customers choose yarns, tools, and patterns

• Ringing up purchases, winding yarn, and packing orders

• Keeping the shop clean, stocked, and beautiful

• Supporting store events like Scrappy Hours, classes, and local markets

• Being a welcoming and supportive presence in the fiber arts community

The details:

• $16/hour

• 5-10 hours per week

• Right of first refusal to pick up extra shifts when available
