Create a breezy, wear-everywhere summer tee in this two-session workshop featuring the Boxy Lady Top by Loopy Mango. Knit with Loopy Mango Summer, a 100% cotton yarn that drapes beautifully and keeps you cool, this relaxed silhouette is flattering on every body and perfect for warm Florida days.

What You’ll Learn

Over two 2-hour sessions, one week apart, you’ll build a garment from the ground up and practice a variety of beginner-friendly techniques:

  • Knitting in the round to create a seamless lower body

  • Transitioning from knitting in the round to knitting flat when shaping the armholes

  • Working classic 1x1 ribbing for neat edges

  • Creating fabric in garter stitch (knit and purl rows for texture)

  • Picking up stitches around the armholes and working them in the round

  • Seaming shoulders for a clean, professional finish

Pattern at a Glance

  • Experience level: Beginner

  • Finished chest width: approx. 22"–28" (XS–3X)

  • Length: approx. 13.5"–20" depending on size

About the Instructor:

Amy Mendelblatt learned how to knit as a child from her grandmother, but did not really begin knitting as a serious hobby until age 25. Since then she's knit countless sweaters, hats, cowls, scarves, and blankets for herself, friends and family. She isn't afraid to knit a project more than once to get it right, and also isn't afraid to do major surgery on a finished piece of knitting. Just ask her about the time she cut a sweater in half to make it longer! She's never without a project nearby, and is happiest when sitting outside on a cool day while knitting.
