Sock Blank Dyeing Workshop - Dye Your Own Yarn!

$65.00

Sock Blank Dyeing Workshop + Swan City Yarns Trunk Show

with Carolyn of Swan City Yarns
Saturday, February 21
Two sessions: 10:30 AM & 12:00 PM
$65 per person | Limited to 4 participants per session

Curious about dyeing your own yarn? Sock blank dyeing is just one of many ways to explore color on yarn, and it’s a great entry point whether you make socks, shawls, garments, blankets, or crochet projects of all kinds. This workshop is for knitters, crocheters, and fiber-curious creatives alike.

Join Carolyn of Swan City Yarns for a relaxed, hands-on dyeing experience where you’ll learn how color behaves on a double knit sock blank (a pre-knit length of yarn that’s dyed and then unraveled for use in any project). No prior dyeing experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to play.

This special event also includes a Swan City Yarns trunk show, so you can browse finished yarns, ask questions about dye methods, and chat about how different color techniques translate to finished projects while your blanks are setting.

Carolyn provides all materials and guidance, and your sock blank will be heat-set and ready to take home the same day. You’ll leave with care instructions, project ideas, and new confidence in understanding hand-dyed yarn, whether you plan to knit, crochet, or stash it lovingly for the perfect project.

What’s included:

  • One double knit sock blank (perfect for knitting or crochet projects)

  • All dyes, tools, apron, and gloves

  • Step-by-step guidance through the dyeing process

  • A finished, colorfast sock blank to take home

  • Care instructions and project inspiration

Good to know:

  • No dyeing experience required

  • Great for knitters, crocheters, and curious beginners

  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little colorful (or bring an old tee)
